Step inside Santa Paws grotto...

Here is a selection of the letters your dogs have written to Santa Paws so far.

Santa Paws lives in the North Pole, obviously, but has subcontracted his on-line present fulfillment to the Company of Animals in the interests of being eco-friendly and out of necessity as the Huskies are coming out on strike in support of the Tube drivers.

Which is your favourite so far?

Click on any photographs you like and be taken to their entry where you can press like or leave a comment.

If there is no pic for an entry please leave a comment at the end and let Santa know the name of the dog you are 'liking'.

If your dog (or cat) wants to write a letter to Santa Paws click here and post it on Company of Animals Facebook page's wall. In order for Santa Paws to recognise the pets who have been very, very good they should try to remember to include a photo and confess whether they've been good or bad...

Remember one dog's wishes will come true this Christmas.

Janine Malone Dear Santa Paws. My name is Monty (after Montgomery Burns), but my mam sometimes calls me Moon coz she says that's where my head is at most of the time! I'm a Standard Schnauzer. I wasn't meant to stay with my mam long as she was only fostering me to try and help me get over a lot of trauma and problems I had during my young life with my first owners. I was 12mths old when I was given to the rescue she helped with and a few months after I arrived with them, she said she could take me in and help me. Well, I certainly have driven her mad at times (and still do woof woof) but she loves me so so much and I know I make her laugh so much as she too has had a very bad year and has lost a lot of her loved ones in such a short time. The reason mam decided to permanently adopt me was when we were out walking with two of my sisters (Mini schnauzers) and I decided to ignore my mam as I was so excited and I ended up running off a cliff. mam was so distraught she went to try get down the cliff after me. I was such a lucky boy because the tide was in as it was over 200ft drop. It happened on Good Friday and the place was Witches Point but I think I had an angel watching over me at that time. The only injury I had was a chipped tooth and a graze to my leg. Oh yea, I didn't bark for two weeks! Mam said that was the quietest I have ever been! Mam thinks that was an omen that I was meant to stay with her in my forever home. Eighteen months later I'm still here, I'm so happy with all my little sisters and my mam. I'm still a bit dopey, very noisy and wear my Mam out but I know I am here because of her. Thank you mam

Sonia Mills Dear Santa Paws, My name is Pepsi and I am a St Bernard and this is my little sister Piggy the Pug, I am eight years old today and have been with my Mummies Sonia and Ruth since I was two and a half. Piggy is five and a half and has been with us for almost four years now. My Mummy Sonia uses a wheelchair and is not always very well physically and/or mentally as she has bipolar as well as various physical disabilities but its OK cos me and Piggy look after her along with our five feline house companions (but it's us dogs that do the hard work you understand not those cats!) Mummy says I especially am her "four legged psych" as I work so much better than the drugs do and I can even tell when Mummy is getting ill and warn her before she gets too bad hopefully. I've even helped stop her from falling sometimes as well by using my body as a support for her. It's not just me, Piggy helps too she lets Mummy cuddle her tight when need be and doesn't mind getting soggy fur from tears (in fact she likes licking them away) and she can help bring Mummy out of a panic attack. We both help mummy feel calmer and try and help reduce her pain as well. Neither of us have been trained to do any of this we just love our mum and want her to be happy as seeing either of our Mummies happy makes us very happy indeed. But I think this qualifies us both as "good" dogs even if we aren't always good and don't always like going walkies doesn't it?
Love, licks & tail wags Pepsi & Piggy xxxxx

She is the best sister I know, we do everything together!! Shirley Russell Was Bowyer Dear Santa Paws, my name is Otto and I am nine months old, I am good most of the time but have been naughty when I am bored, I would love to have warm coat for when I am out walking with my mummy.

Liz Kimber Hello Santa Paws, my name is Maddie, I'm about 3.5, I don't think my Mummy would say I've been good this year, for some reason she doesn't appreciate me playing with the bin contents, twice this week she's said something about turning me into a kebab, I like games, so I think that sounds fun! For Christmas all I want is to go see my furry friends who live with Grandad. Much as mummy tells me off, I hope for Christmas all the other furry friends out there find somewhere warm and loving as here to live. I don't think Mummy could handle many more. We had a temporary friend earlier this year, but, it didn't work out, I miss him.

Liz Kimber Hello Santa paws, my name is Charlie. I'm 11 in a couple of weeks, and I'm generally very good says my mummy, although she doesn't like it when I want to sleep in her chair, shes given me a dirty look now as shes on the floor while I lounge in her spot. All I want for Christmas are Bonios. I love Bonios.

Liz Kimber Hello Santa Paws, my name is Brown, my mummy found me wandering down a duel carriage way back in 2000, I'm getting a little old now, but I don't remember how old I am. I spend a lot of my time asleep so I've been good, I promise, I chase a few rabbits while I sleep, but all I need in the world is a nice comfy place to sleep. I'm not fussy :)

Tracy Emms Save Lennox All we want from Santa Paws for Christmas is for the BCC to Release Lennox and let him go home to his family

Rachel Adams Dear Santa Paws all we would like for Christmas is for all the unloved, ill treated and forgotten animals to be treated with a sack full of love, just like our mum treats us every day of the year. x

Gail Clement Dear Santa Paws My name is Roxy and I am 13 months old and I don't want much for Christmas as I had my gift early this year, I got a new mama and fur brother, but yesterday my fur brother got hit by a car, he is ok thank goodness and nothing broken and he is going to be ok :) My Mamma is the best and we have been waiting... along time to move as we need a garden so my wish is for mama to get the house with a garden she desperately wants so we have somewhere to play when we want to.
Mama rescued us both you see, and Mama loves us and we love her, she don't ask for much all she wants is a nice home garden for me and my brother
thank you Santa Paws I hope my mama's wish comes true :)

Abby Brown Our little Rottweiler x Delilah, shes been a brave girl having extensive TPLO surgery on both of her knees this year, she deserves lots of presents this Christmas :)

Laura Llewellyn HI - I am Charlie Dog. I've been mostly a good boy this year, but even when I haven't, how can you resist my smile and charm?!

Wendy Peacock My La Dolce Vita - 'Dolce' rescued from Spain.

PS: has eaten her way through several household objects but hey ho maybe Santa will replace them? She's still a baby and learning to live in a home, Bless her

Chell Gill I am a spoilt boy who is trying to be good cos I have been here for 15 months and I want to stay please Santa xx

Victoria Muir Dear Santa, My dogs have been very good this year. I have MS and they don't leave my side for a min and worry a lot if I am having a relapse xxxxx

Debbii End Bsl Pells Santa, my dog holly has been fantastic, we recently rescued a pregnant emaciated cat and she has accepted her no problem, she even shares her food !! We love you Holly

Cassie Owen My dog Missy deserves her Christmas to be a great one as she had a really bad start in life, having 2 abusive homes by the time she was three months old then spending the next yr of her life living in kennels, she is a beautiful dog, my hairy child, but her reputation as a Staffie precedes her and it really is unwarranted x x

Charlie Barton Dear Santa Paws, My name is Charlie Barton my mummy says I have been the perfect puppy this year, I have looked after mummy when she was poorly after her knee operation and gave her lots of Westie pawhugs and kisses. I have also looked after my new little niece, shown her whats right and wrong - she is also a Westie called Daisy Boo but shes still only a baby ( its her 1st Christmas) so please make sure you put something extra special in her stocking for her!!
I love anything that squeaks but if you could manage to find me one that lasts longer than a day that would be grrrrreat!!! I do love to play with the odd toilet roll, roll of paper, newspaper or cardboard box mummy says I would make a good canine shredder. Mummy says to sum me up I have made her and daddy very happy with all the love I have shared with them this year.... thank you Santa paws I will leave you some doggy treats and a bowl of water on Christmas Eve lots of woof Charlie Barton xxxxx wag wag

Fiona Leadbetter Dear Santa Paws, we all try to be good but sometimes it's just too much hard work. We're what you call rescue dogs, I think that is because we were all given away. We all keep our mum & dad busy and like to get up at 5am to start the day with a good run in the dark. Then we play games with dad all day to keep him ...out of mischief till mum comes home from work.
Stella Bella is 5 and great at agility, she never cheats. Guinness is
12 and lived with us the longest and Frankie who is the biggest boy in
the pack is just 1 and joined our family when he was just 5 months old.

Jo Steward Dear Santa Paws, My name is Millie and apparently I am not a good girl! :O Mum was busy changing the beds so I helped her by checking that the recycling was ready for collection. Well I found a dirty bottle so I took it all the way upstairs and jumped up in front of mum on the clean bed to show her and suddenly all these muddy paw prints appeared!!! She didn't appear to like my help clearing the work surfaces either - although she had left me a nice treat of ham sandwiches all on a posh plate ready for when I had finished. Finally I thought I would save her the trouble of getting the noisy shredder out and shredded all the stuff that came through the letter box - all mum said was I should have "chequed"! I am going go for a snooze and dream of a new super tough chew toy so I am too busy to help her next time! Lots of waggy bums and licks to you and all our furry friends for a Happy Christmas Millie Eejit xxx

Beverley Balmbra Dear Santa, we are three boys living together I'm a Shih Tzu my name is charlie, Louis is a Bichon and Benjie is a Yorkie. We do try hard to be good but sometimes we just cant help ourselves we don't want to make mum sad. Sibling rivalry I think they call it. I cant help barking at the dog whisperer on the TV those naughty... dogs I feel I have to tell them off otherwise Santa wont come this year. Mum likes to watch the dog whisperer but she doesn't get chance with me barking all the time i promise I will try and be good. Your special fan Charlie x x x

Elke Schluter Dear Santa, we are three very nice dogs. Our name are Kim (3), Luke (3) and Jessie (1). I know we have been sometimes a bit naughty to our Mum, specially when we jump up at the door when she or friends come over to visit us. But we sooooooooo excited when Mum comes back from shopping or friends come to visit us.But we promise ...we try to be a bit calmer. Santa do you know that our Mum is the BEST. Me Jessie and me Luke, we have been with very cruel people before. They have beaten us and used us as an ash tray for cigarettes. And then they did not want us any more. It was soooo lonely and hard this time, and we didn't know what we have done wrong. But when we thought no1 ever loves us again Kim and our Mummy came to take us home. That was the luckiest day in our live and we very very happy now. Ohhh and yes we would love to get a nice prezzie from Santa even we have everything we can think of.

Lee Geddis Dear Santa Paw's..my name is Jack and I'm a Patterdale Terrier..That should already be ringing alarm bells!!! I'm usually good..well most of the time..honest!!!
The thing is, the other day mum left me in the kitchen and I got bored...so... I thought it would be fun to jump on the table and from there on to the kitchen counters and I sort of knocked a few things over :-( Including mums laptop! Obviously I cant type so mum is trying to see through the broken screen!! I also thought she might have left me something nice in the microwave..or possibly in the washing machine..so I looked.. but nothing there or in the plant pot!! I do try to be good and I really am most of the time :-) So Santa Paw's could you tell mum I'm sorry and I'll try not to do it again.and say hello to all the other doggies when your leaving off pressies. Lots of licks and wags...woof Jack xx

Lorraine Jones dear santa paws, we are 2 lil yorkies a year old and we can not tell a lie we have not been perfect all year, we occassionally have fun fights and we have stole a few toys from this huge tree our mammy put up in living room but its sooooo pretty we really couldn't help it, we have chewed a few shoes but only a little a...s they were tasty! we do make it up to our human family by always being there with love, licks and cuddles & altho we small we bark and warn off unwanted visitors and bring fun & happiness to our family. we would really love a new tug toy & tasty treats & we promise to be extra good next year :-)

Nicky Hoad dear Santa paws, this was a photo of me when i was very tiny, i have grown a bit now but I'm still only 8 months old, i was born in rescue and my mummy saw a photo of me and fell in love, the one thing i would like this Christmas is for all the other rescue dogs to find there forever homes and be as loved as i am, but if you felt i was really really good then i would also love a chew toy under my mummy's tree for me and my big sister to play with.....thank you ♥

Nicky Hoad dear Santa paws, i have been a very good girl this year, you see when I was a puppy i was used as a bait dog, well my mummy found out and came and got me, well i still get very scared of other dogs, but this year my mummy got me a little baby brother from a rescue center, I share everything with my little brother toys, food, and most of all my bed, all i want for Christmas is my family and maybe a ball or two to play with.......thank you ♥

Rebekah Harvey Dear Santa, I always try and be very good...All I'd love for Christmas is to be able to see again for one day or to be able to hear again for one day....

Lindsey Coombes Dear Santa, I've been VERY Good all year, honest!!

Jennifer Harley Murphy Hi I'm Ted, All I want from Santa is a my fav pedigree bone, mmm, yum, yum!

Susan Biggs Dear Santa, I write, 'cos I want, if I may,
To thank you in advance for making my Christmas day.
One filled with joy and love for me,
My first in my new home, you see.

...Tess has told me that I must be asleep,
When you come and leave our treats in a heap,
Under the thing called a Christmas tree,
And this year I know there'll be some for me.

Tess tells that in the morning, we go for a walk first,
'Cos we have to get rid of our energy burst
Then home for breakfast, our slice of toast,
I hope it's got Marmite, I like that the most.
Then to the tree go me and Tess,
To open our presents and make a mess.

No more life in a kennel there'll be,
I'm over the moon, Oh, what glee.
The rescue people, they did their best,
But the joy of being in my new home, Oh yes!

We had treats in the kennel but it wasn't the same,
Life in a kennel is no game.
I hope other dogs are lucky like me,
I know some, and know that they will be.

To all dogs in rescue I wish for you,
That next year you'll be in your forever homes too.
So Santa, once again I say 'thanks' to you,
And hope you have a Merry Christmas too.
With love from Arnold Ambull

Nicola Pennington-Grant This is Olly, a GSD x Malinois. Given up to be pts for being untrainable at 4 months old, taken from Ireland to rescue in Kent where he was given some much needed nourishment. Finally he joined our family last year and has gone on to get two rosettes in Talking Dogs Rally Obedience (not bad for an untrainable dog). We still have a lot of work to do and he has great friends who help him along the way. Maybe he could have a little reward for all the effort on his part in being calm and attentive?

Amber Westie I have been very good for the whole year round. I have looked after and protected my house from strangers, I have kept the rats and mice at bay together with my boys Jack and Charlie and with our cats. I brought happiness and love into my mum's life and still do. I know when she needs me the most and give her my cuddle...s and unconditional love - no matter what! I lick her tears off and make her laugh again. I introduce her to my friends and make her life meaningful. I kept to my duties even after my leg cyst was removed and even when I suffered with bad skin. Thank you mum for looking after me, Jack and Charlie and for not giving up on us. Life is too short!

Shirley Allen-White This is Millie our little Westie pup, this will be her first Christmas, she's been a very good girl, she was very brave when she had her first vaccination and as you can see she is already looking for her Christmas goodies.

Anne Peter Hello, I am Murphy the Great Dane.
My mum collected me last year just before Christmas and gave me lots of good raw food and I'm now much heavier too. I do have a weird feeling that I may have had some bad habits ???? Not sure what they are but still, Mum did not give up on me and has taught me lots of things! I am now really excellent at chasing a piece of wood (dumbell) and in exchange, get a sausage!  Now that's what I call a Great Exchange!

Amy Jones This is my lovely Louie. He's been such a good boy this year (as always)  helping me out with events for Oldies Club and being a stoodge dog for home visits etc. He loves balls especially the squeaky tennis balls and hes hoping for some new ones from Santa Paws as a Lab stole one and his Dad threw the other up a tree. He ...also hopes Santa Paws will bring lots of pressies to the dogs who haven't been lucky enough to find their forever homes yet.

Di Holder My names Tilly Trotter number 11 of Mums family of rescued dogs I was 6months old when I arrived in my forever home, I am very sweet, but a real tom boy, always getting into mischief and up to all the tricks I can think of, I always blame the other dogs cause I look as if butter wouldn't melt So please Santa if you ca...n forgive me and send a nice pressie for the other dogs, I promise to be good!!!!! Love Tilly Trotter

Lynda Carter I was an abandoned puppy in Ireland last Christmas. I will be one on the 4th December. I'm looking forward to a cosy Christmas this year and hopefully I will get a nice prezzie but couldn't ask for anything more than to be taken in by a ...family who loves me. I know we have had some difficult times but you believe in me and thanks for all the training and games we play. I love my pyramid which I have my food out of so another toy like that would be lovely and I hope by brother and sisters found happiness too...wishing you a woofy Christmas x

Nicola Bowers Roxy has been a very good girl this year. She is working in the Gold class at training, has been a stooge dog for many months helping other dogs who aren't as sociable as herself, been on Scottish television showing off, "works" as a PAT dog in a residential home for those with varying degrees of dementia and generally... just being the most wonderful dog I have ever met!

She won her class at Scruffts at Discover Dogs this year - number one Golden Oldie! But, of course, she's always my Golden Oldie. ;o) Not bad for a dog who came to us at 5.5 years old - soon to be 10 in February - with nothing in the way of training, been exposed to an electric shock collar as she was deemed "out of control"! A bit of understanding, patience, dedication and hard work was all it took to bring out the incredible dogs she really is. She is definitely one in a million and we love her to bits.

Michele Brydon this is me on my first day home from the kennels. I was rescued. I look such a sweet girl but in fact I'm far from it. i like to be naughty by jumping up on top the table and sleeping on paperwork. i also have eaten i massive hole in the couch but I'm a lucky girl as I'm still living in this nice warm house and not in a kennel. this will be my 2nd Christmas here and I think I'm a very lucky girl to be where I am. but the one thing I would like for Christmas is a new ball as my other ones used to talk to me and I loved that toy now it doesn't work anymore so I don't play with it anymore I just tear a tennis ball up and that's not fun. and this little pink toy that you see me with is no longer pink i had to drag her through the mud and I didn't like her ears. mummy tried to wash it and she stitched it up a few times but now I just think its fun to shake the stuffing out of her. looking forward to my 2nd Christmas dinner. my mummy loves me.

Julie Montgomery This is Amber helping herself to an apple off 'her' tree, we have a few apple trees in the garden but my husband noticed Amber stretching up to this one many years ago (she's 12 years old) and decided this one should be for the dogs!! It's the only one they take apples from as if they know it's for them!! Clever girls.

Victoria Thomas This is Sasha who is ten. She has IBD and is often on medication. She will let the vet do anything and is so good natured and sweet. I'd give her the moon if I could.

Sharlit Waggers Ayla, Asher and Riley have been very good this year and have been especially good with our new addition "Dexter" (not pictured, another black and tan). I think in the name of tolerance and awesomeness they deserve a little something special from Santa Paws this Christmas :)

Gillian Benham This is my Doggy Daisy duke, she has been a very good girl and would like a new bed for Xmas because she is 6 months next week and getting a bit big for her little bed :)

Demelda Penkitty Loki & Wilbur have been very good boys and definitely deserve a surprise from Santa.

Louise Duncombe This is my dog Benji he had a bad start to to life when he was a puppy but with a lot of love and he has come round. He loves his toys and especially stealing them off his friend buster

Alison Jane This is Snoopy. He's just turned 1 year old. We've had him about 8 months now, he was unwanted and had been passed around three homes before we found him and gave him a loving home. We love him to bits! In this picture he's wearing his red scarf which he loves!!

Alyson Lawrence This is my new puppy Hamish. He is 16 weeks old and is the love of my life. He is such a joy to own and cheers me up when I'm down. He has been a very good boy in the 8 weeks he has been with me and so deserves to be on Santa's list.

Jacque Muttitt this is my dog ' Pugley', I'm having a difficult time at the moment and he knows when I'm not having a good day, he'll come up to me and put his head on my lap, and look at me as if to say,'' everything is going to be OK mummy, I'm here'', I wouldn't be without him and the companionship he offers .
